Burrs Country Park provides a beautiful setting for the 65th annual show organised by Bury and District Agricultural Society, with the River Irwell on one side of the show ground and the East Lancs steam railway on the other.  For those wishing to make a weekend of it, there is a new Caravan Club site adjacent.

The Heavy Horse classes are always popular and the Cattle and Sheep classes continue to gather strength after several years of enforced absence.  Members of The Donkey Breed Society will be attending with their lovable animals, and the equally attractive alpacas will be with us once again.

Music will be provided by the Band of the Fusiliers Association (Lancashire) and their Corps of Drums will be a feature in the main ring, as will the British Bulldogs, a youth gymnastics display team from Merseyside.  Other main ring attractions will include: a display of side-saddle riding; the Pennine Bernese Mountain Dogs; a tractor pull; a display by Rossendale Dog Training Club.  Around the site will be: vintage cars, tractors and buses; a steam organ; military vehicles; and trade stands, and in marquees visitors will find ferrets and bees, as well as displays of Rural Crafts.

Entry to the show is £5 for adults, £3 for senior citizens and for children aged 12-15.  Those under 12 get free entry.

There will be a free bus service from Bolton Street Station to the show ground
